I recently have been tested for MS. After years of bladder retention and being told its most like anxiety but definite bladder spasms!
Retention completely stopped after pregnancy. Since the birth of my child 3 years ago, I've been fatigued, muscle spasms, tingling limbs (trips to the ER thinking it was a stroke!) , anxiety and most recently dizziness and slight blurriness and vision changes. Always had weird sharp pains in my limbs and up my spine. W/o contrast MRI just came back with nonspecific Gliosis. Everyone is telling me not to freak out, but I don't feel freaked, I feel terrified because I finally feel like all my symptoms make sense.
All my bloodwork is normal with the exception of high cholesterol ( Im in good shape) and low Vit D, (live in the North).
I don't know if I have a question, just some encouragement or confirmation.
Thanks you.
Worried. any insight
Re: Worried. any insight
hi jenlee welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you've been having an uncomfortable time
the good news is you can do all kinds of valuable self-care. if you have your own copy of the bloodwork and can share, we can probably provide some useful insights. bloodwork is problematic for pwms - often docs won't be looking at some of the important levels, and even for the tests that are done, the ranges generally don't tell you there's a problem because everyone is 'normal range'. (it's just that the sick people tend to have low normal levels while the healthy people tend to be high normal).
if you are comfortable sharing (or PMing) daily intake of foods, fluids, supplements and meds, we may be able to spot issues or gaps that might need a bit of a tweak.
any related health info such as frequency/types of other health complaints/illnesses, any previous diagnoses, things that run in your family, all that kind of thing also helps flesh out the scenario.
if it is of any particular comfort in your case, i have helped new moms on this forum before and with one i remember in particular all her complaints resolved after we figured out that she was not taking her prescription vitamins properly, and that she needed extra minerals on top of what that prescription provided. she popped in to say thank you and we haven't heard from her again in years. a good news story!
