Double Vision, peripheral neuropathy, Incontinence

Hi All,

I'm a 42yr old male, in pretty good health (generally)

About a year ago I experienced an period of double vision, this was predominantly at the end of the day so I just put it down to eye strain (I'm a computer worker) This lasted about 4 weeks and then just went away.

About two months ago more symptoms started. Initially a burning/itching sensation in my left arm into my hand, this gets a lost worse when I'm warm and I have bouts where it is almost unbearable. I have also developed pins and needles in my feet. Now I have started having Incontinence issues...

I have had a blood test (CBC, B12, Glucose, Thyroid, Kidney/Liver) and brain MRI and am getting the results tomorrow. (just a side note, MRI's are freaking horrible for a claustrophobic person)

Obviously I am really freaking out at the moment.... and from what I have read it's not going to be an easy pop into the GP type diagnosis, but rather a long drawn out series of appointment's and tests. I'm really not looking forward to this journey.

Welcome to ThisIsMS. It might be a good idea to ask your doctor for a copy of your test results especially with respect to B12. The standard range for B12 is usually around 200-900 pg/mL. However, the low end of the range is much too low and includes people who are actually deficient. In comparison, the range for B12 in Japan starts at 500 pg/mL. A B12 deficiency could potentially cause many of your neurological symptoms. Hi,

Get checked for the full range of infections as well; mycoplasma, Lyme, Borrellia, Babesia, EBV etc and get a fecal examination for pathogens. They should check for infections but usually don't.
