Do I "fit" here ?
Do I "fit" here ?
Hello...
I am a V.A. Hospital patient. I was dx's as MS/SS sjogren's syndrome.
I have all the symptoms, and have the lesions in the WM. The neurologist fellowship said 'many' ? lesions. They are not treating me with interferon ... yet...
I take pred. mtx, lyrica and paquinil. Many other scripts too for HT, etc,
I also have autoimmune liver disease.
Numbness, burning Pain, eyesight involvement.
So do I fit here?

Of course you fit in here, although I've never run across anyone with sjogren's syndrome so it might be a learning experience for all of us.

Ten + years ago, it was my first diagnosis.Lyon wrote:Of course you fit in here, although I've never run across anyone with sjogren's syndrome so it might be a learning experience for all of us.
Thank you so much
If it wasn't for hubby's support I would go bizurck!
I am going through the, well I really may make sense out of these crazy symtoms. Like my PA in rheumatology says hey, it is not in your head it is in your brain. Thanks to his perseverance (sometimes our only weapon) we got the dx's.
Yes, in 2005, they said I had sjogren's syndrome.... (pronounced SHOW-grins) I thought sure there is not even a disease called that came home looked it up and whooops there it was!
I have been plagued with AI's since 1979. The neurologist thinks I have had MS a long time and that the treatments for the AI's (pred, MTX etc) kept the MS at bay and no one looked for it.
Please do investigate Sjogren's it is a little cared about disease that really effects those that have it. Like fibro there is more too it than doc's care to let it's victims in on.

Autoimmune Spectrum
Personally, I've long been convinced that all these "autoimmune" diseases, which have been separately discovered and separately researched and in every way have each been considered a disease in and of itself, in reality is a single "syndrome" which expresses itself differently in different people due to differences in their individual systems.bigouies wrote: Please do investigate Sjogren's it is a little cared about disease that really effects those that have it. If there is any good in any of this I think it is that the people who have multiple autoimmune diseases and must feel that their situation is beyond hope are going to be pleased to discover that their situation is much less dire than they think and won't require their waiting for a "cure" for each of these obscure diseases.
