Inflammation

Post by 81Charger »

Hi all,

I'm just curious if anyone else tries to eat/drink things to help fight inflammation. I do but I'm not sure if I am doing what I should and if it does indeed help.

Yes. After reducing my intake of sugar starting around 2002, I finally gave it up entirely 4 years ago. Sweetened items now taste so sweet that they're offensive. I find that I don't miss the sugar and the ups and downs that go with it.

I eat home cooked meals with lots of veggies. I don't drink pop anymore. Even those with artificial sweeteners lead to weight gain because they raise insulin. They're also detrimental to the gut's microbiome. I now drink herb teas and ice water. I also avoid fruit juice because juicing separates the sugar from the fiber. Some bottled green juices have as much as 50 g/serving. That's more than a 12 oz. Coke. 50 g of sugar = 4.2 tablespoons!
