Ian, those two articles are the best and most comprehensive summaries of where we stand with research at the moment that I think I've ever seen! Not only are they clear, concise and easy to read, they give great cause for optimism: I especially liked the mention of PPMS being able to be included more in research and trials in the future.
Thanks for giving me a boost!

Dom,
Like you, I thought the articles provided a good summary of where we are with MS research and the key areas still to be addressed. I know that some users of the site don't have much time for the NMSS, but the NMSS is pouring huge amounts of funds into a wide range of projects (not just US projects). Any organisation that is funding projects to examine protection and repair gets the thumbs up from me.

I used to be one to down the NMSS... That is until I sent an e-mail (last week) to the NMSS expressing me diappointment. I got a reply from the editor, which didn't help any, and told the editor to forward the e-mail to someone who can really answer my questions. Arney Rosenblat, VP of Public Affairs responded. I think Arney was able to change my mind about my feelings toward the NMSS. That is jut me anyway. I am not easily swayed either.

Dear Ian,
It never fails that just about the time I convince myself that you are nothing more than a six foot five, intelligent, devilishly handsome, important, wealthy, kung fu master and useless leach on the decent society which spawned you, you come up with links like these and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!
Not to go off topic but does it normally take months for chocolates to travel from England to the US?
