Nose-to-brain administration of drugs
seriously
Nose to brain makes sense to me and I'm not just goofing.
When I mentioned doing lines of NAG, I was joking, but my thoughts seriously lie in certain tissues of the human body can absorb certain absorb-able substances.
Think about LSD and how it absorbs underneath the tongue much faster and stronger...
Could the same be true for certain treatments for MS?
This thread has inspired me.
I am going to take my daily scoops of Ultimate NAG and let them sit underneath my tongue until it completely disolves and swallow the reminants.
No more mixing it with OJ.

Re: seriously
I have capsules, and after reading your posts about your powder, a couple times I have emptied them under my tongue and waited till they dissolved.Jim_P wrote:I am going to take my daily scoops of Ultimate NAG and let them sit underneath my tongue until it completely disolves and swallow the reminants.
But doing lines... that's a lot of powder.

Jim_p and cure or bust
I am late for work, but I thought I needed to post to keep from worrying about this all day. I'm not sure I'd invite too many meds into my brain at this point.
I have taken no meds at this point except a homeopathic med, so I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about, but hear me out.
It seems like our brains aren't very good at getting rid of what is in them.
If the crossing of the blood brain barrier throught he nose is correct, then that is a perfect example. What went in is still in- stuck there only to do damage.
I read somewhere that some MS brains were found to have an overload of iron, regardless of the iron load inthe body. Again- stuck there.
So, if you inhale or take meds under your toungue, you are inviting a substance in that the brain probably won't be able to rid itself of.
Would NAG cause a die-off? Where would that go?
Would it cause your to stop fighting whatever is there so it has more power to take over?
I read a bit on NAG a few minutes ago, and I'm sure I didn't get a grip on what it actually does, so in my limited time here, I just wanted to say , BE CAREFUL!!!

I understand where your coming from, and cannot speak for others.
Most substances that I take for MS are to try to either limit (or stop) the damage caused by the disease (eg NAG), or improve the integrity of the BBB (eg Statins).
As for the sublingual thing, all food passes through our mouths so you are doing it without even trying already.

Terry-
Thanks for the reply. I can see where you're coming from, but I have been taking this type of glucosamine for a couple months now (I've lost track, but I've been through three jars) and I have been doing better in many ways.
Is peeing standing up a bad thing? This has been more often than before. Is running up and down steps a bad thing, I can do this now. Is not having a numb hand, so now I can play music again a bad thing?
I'll tell you what I'm and DEATHLY afraid of. The drugs these doctors are prescribing. REBIF is the devil. It made my MS worsten in 3 months extremely fast. I stopped being able to urinate sitting on my toilet, unless I had a bowel movement. I had to squat from then on. My legs started buckling walking down the steps. I became SICK and DEPRESSED. It made me worse.
Steroids.... What do you think they do to the human body?
I'm also on muscle relaxers that I think do more damage than good in the long run and I wouldn't spout this unless I thought it were true.
Now... What is NAG? It is a concentrated ground up extract from the shells of sea shells.
Is it filled with chemicals like the docs have and are prescribing me... nope?
Does it provide any income or kick back for the Neuro?? Nope!!
As much as I appreciate your advice, I will ride with Seashells rather than Steroids, Interferons, and hopefully no more muscle relaxers soon.
that's my 10000000 cents.
