kept it to myself
kept it to myself
i was dxd in 2001, since 2005 my life became agonizing painful ms
i've tried it all abc drugs, ldn, abx and a few other things. some minor improvements over the last couple years but pain is still aweful.
i have no use of my legs, my left arm and hand and since dec my right arm and hand are slowly losing their strength and pain is starting to settle there as well as the rest of my body. abx helped soo much with my speaking, brain function and reading. ldn helped with my choking, swallowing and balance. but due to pain. i still spend 95 per cent of my life in bed. so in dec, i promised myself it was time to do something out of my safety box. so mon jan 21 i left a message for carrie. ok the first time i called i hung up really fast. the next time i called i was like "hi, um, my name is ,um linda,um ........... i'm um from um, ontario, canada, um
i must have said um 50 times. carrie called me back tues and the first thing she said was i thought cadadian's said eh not um. so right from the start. she set me at ease. we talked for about 45 mins and then e-mailed all the info too me. thurs i called my parents, they were afraid but very supportive. fri i went to my gp, he freaked when i told him. when i explained what it was, where it was and gave him all the info i had researched. he stopped looking so annoyed with me but not convinced this was the way to go. and i said yes so much has helped me in the last three years. my mom talked to her friends about what i hoped to do and one of them talked to a dr b in kingston. he wanted me to see him before i made my decision so i kept my apr 8 appt. but my gp did set up the mri's i need on mar 11. but fri i received the oddest phone call. it was from dr freedman's office in ottawa. but it was my birthday weekend and i will call tomorrow and confirm the appt for the end of apr. for those of you who do not know dr freedman, he is our canadian stem cell specialist. i think i need to listen to every treatment option before deciding which one is the best for me. but wow, i mention baltimour and all kinds of doors open that were locked to me before
sorry for the length
i'm just more scared and confused then i've ever been

I understand your fear but this is really a good thing! I have always said the more information you have the better you will feel and the less fear you will have. Listen to what all the contacts have to say, weigh it all out and then you can make an informed, well thought-out decision. I think things will become clearer the more information you have. That will make your fear lessen. I wish you all the best. Keep us posted on what you find out!
