Bob,
You had to bring up Government Mule. That's Warren Haynes's band (Duane Allman's replacement) and he is out of Asheville, SC. I have seen them many times and actually coaxed the board guy to burn me a disk when they played the Newport in Columbus about 5 years ago.
Warren Haynes is one of the best guitarists I have ever seen, and you name a guitarist and I've probably seen them. Although there will never be another Duane Allman, this guy is pretty damn good!
Shannon, I grew up in the 80's, but I never liked the music. I listened to Zeppelin and Stevie Ray and Santana and that kind of stuff (and Floyd of course) then, and then someone told me the 80's were over and I started buying music again . Right now I'm jamming to a little Walter Becker/Donald Fagan (the Dan) on my computer so I don't fall asleep while updating a drawing. I love to talk about music. My dad raised me on The Beatles and early Elton John and he was into "Hi-FI" so we had the coolest stereo in the neighborhood. Man I love music.

Drug music is cool, hehe (Beavis laugh). And speaking of Floyd, I saw them in the tenth row at Ohio State stadium. One of the few outdoor concerts where the sound was great. They played the entire A side of "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" to open. I was in heaven. No Roger Waters on that tour though, but they still rocked. It was the "Learning to Fly" tour but they played mostly old stuff which was awesome. Can't do the stadium concerts anymore unless I'm wearing and indwelling but I still love to go to local shows where the batroom is close!
