Radiographer not happy with scan, Have to have another eek

Post by millysmum »

Hi I had an MRI last Wednesday and was expecting the results in 7 days.
I have just had a phone call from the hospital at 8pm tonight saying they are not happy with the quality of my scan. I'm really worried now, I have to go to another hospital on Thursday and have another one done.
Does anyone know what this might mean. I have not been diagnosed yet but my gp is very concerned about ms.

I haven't had that many MRI's, but at the end of each, the radiographer will review the results, before they let me go. I think they are checking that I didn't move during the scan etc, I have never asked what they are looking for.

It sounds possible this check is not part of your hospitals procedures, so they reviewed after, and now they realise it did not go so well.

I think Cure is right. It probably just means you moved during the scan, so the images are blurred. Nothing to really worry about. But he's right; they should look at the images before you leave, to limit the inconvenience of having to go back.

I agree with them. Worry when you are given a reason too, not one minute before.
