Marc, your tribute to your wife Karen is just wonderful. It's really amazing how the worst of life's circumstances can bring out the best in people, and I'm sure you feel blessed as I do!
I loved the joke about the jewelry store! In fact I recall looking at the little ring I was able to buy my wife on a college student's salary last week saying to Joan, 'hey should we do something about this'? and she said (I'm paraphrasing) 'I really happy with this one!' - now this is not to say she might want an upgrade SOMETIME, but for now I guess I'm ok, ha.
