Marie continues to take Copaxone because it relieves symptoms of RA

Science is based upon the assumption that the world can be known and understood by observation. If you assume that we never really KNOW anything, then we are left with a science fiction world... Something from the Phillip K. Dick novel "Eye in the Sky". In this story the world really DOES change to fit the realities of individual people. If you are a jihadist, then you really do get 40 virgins if you die for your faith. If you hate gays, then they really are evil and burn in hell. It's all chaos.

Putting on my fire suit and stepping on in, going on my 3rd straight month of this wonderful "placebo" effect. Instead of dreading the drudgery of trudging through the day half alert to the world with no impetus to do much of anything, I've spent the last 3 months running out of hours to do stuff and not caring about sleep. Complete flip flop from pre-op. My anectdotal "dismissable" placebo effect is the best thing that's happened despite the ENTIRE "rest of the world" being skeptical, er, I mean "disbelieving" (are those the same thing?;) ) so hopefully the "rest of the world" will catch on eventually...

If not, then I will continue to enjoy the benefits of this most joyous placebo effect, which the combined billions and billions of dollars of medical and pharmaceutical research did little to assist with.

I'm a walking anectdotal miracle.... :)

I did not post that statement in order to be argumentative. I merely posted it to make that point that I felt that Lyon's statement...
Lyon wrote:The world has never seen a "fact" which hasn't eventually been disproven.
...was entirely too all encompassing.

While it is true in science that some of what we have learned has been subject to revision and correction, there are facts that we can know with complete certainty. I gave two examples of such facts. There are more, but those two are entirely sufficient.

Phillip K Dick was a classic writer of the "golden" age of science fiction. I don't know if "Eye in the Sky" is still in print. Google it though and see if you can find it.
