Oh you know you will be back here reporting soon Oliver, but your advice is well taken as a reminder to anyone anywhere for anything medical, be your own best advocate. Easier said than done I know. Will look forward to your further reports. Mark.

Life is not that easy.
I am so glad you are at home.
Look, my father had ope heart surgery this April, he came home after 11 days. He felt better - the breathing and heart beeting was normal, he did not want to faint anymore, but he was depressed A LOT!

My 11 years old nephew from Vancouver had already his second open heart surgery this July . The first 5 days were hard for him - it was painfull and he was blaming his mother a lot.
His day 10 he was not depressed anymore and he did not have any pain.
I knew very good before my procedure in Poland that it might happend to me. I was informed ba doctors in Slovakia, by Dr. Simka and by Dr. Ludyga as well. I was ready to have it, I was ready to have second procedure, just whatever...

I am very sure you will stay with us for a long time!!!
I am sending you good mood, energy and positive thinking from Slovakia!

Keep strong, time is a great healer and on your side now.

Only positive thoughts Radeck and ignore anyone who breaths negativity, surround yourself with positive people and you have plenty here to start with.

Prolonged bed rest prio to and following surgery will give many a pounding head. I remember as a teenager getting our of bed after a week and felt like someone was playing socker with my head.

Reading about Radeck brings one of my biggest fears to the surface. For those of you who live close to Stanford, if a problem such as Jeff's or Radeck's appears, you can take a trip back to see Dr. Dake. But, what if you live in the eastern US as we do. What would you do if you noticed a problem such as Radeck did? Would you call Dr. Dake and hope he could refer you to someone in your area? Just thinking of jumping on a plane with a stent floating in your heart.
