leflunomide ( Arava )

hi just got back from seeing my neuro he has asked me if i would like to go on a drug trial for leflunomide (Arava) had a quick look at the drug pipeline but could not find anything. Has anyone heard about this drug or any one on it ?

elaine, leflunomide is similar to the oral drug currently in phase 3 MS trials, teriflunomide (teriflunomide is an analog of leflunomide). Leflunomide is an approved rheumatoid arthritis drug. There have been lab/mouse studies suggesting it might be helpful in MS, but I've never seen any info on an MS trial of leflunomide. Hi I'm thinking of asking the doc to prescribe this anit-inflamatory off label. Can you tell me what happened. Does it work for you?
