Also, it is Friday Dec 4, as I post this, so there is obviously a mix up with the forum clock! :)

Hi all, I am Canadian and I am going to Vancouver to have MRV testing and doppler done (I hope). I have put in a patient request through Surgical tourism. I would like to go in January if possible. I will be claiming this on Income Tax. I also have my brother looking into connections that he has in China. I feel that place the drug companies do not have a hold on. They have excellent medical care and the price is right. My brother lived there for a while and is good with conversational Mandarin but not medical terms. He said you can hire a medical translator. I may be crazy, well probably am crazy but WTF. I don't see a lot of options coming down the pike. Take care to all of you and just think we have some hope now when just a few months ago all seemed hopeless.

Hello Everyone...this is only my 2nd post....so I hope I do this right.....

I am going to the False Creek Surgical Centre in Vancouver, BC. I went there in November to try to look at all my veins etc. The clinic did not have the proper equipment.

Today we contacted the clinic and they have the equipment. There are some people that are saying that they need to be properly trained to know exactly what they are looking for. We spoke to the clinic and they have tested over 100 people.

I am going back on Dec. 21 and 22nd to have all the testing completed now...including the doppler test.

This is a private clinic.....and it will cost a chunk. I am very willing to try anything at this point. I will be the guinea pig. 8O

Here is an article that was in our paper today....

<shortened url>

I hope this post was ok. Please do let me know if I did something wrong.

Hugs,
Caroline

You will have done something wrong only if you forget to tell us about your experience at the False Creek Surgical Center's facility.

Not asking for test results but for your perception of the facility and the personnel.

Like you I will be a willing guinea pig but prefer to be an informed, willing guinea pig.

I understood the prices were:

MRV and Ultrasound: $1950
MRV only: $1600

If not too personal a question, were those the numbers you were quoted?

And thanks for keeping the information flowing.

Hi DodgeViper (BTW...my hubby just got a Challenger!!)..sweeet ride!!

Anyway, no worrires at all about asking me questions. We paid $2,070 for the MRI. They didn't have all the right equipment and software so we're going back to finish the test. They also told us there is no charge...I think we may even get some money back?

They are also going to do the doppler test. I'm not sure though if these technicians are really trained to really understand what they are looking for. Oh well...I'm doing it. I saw on CTV News that the technician that do these test should have at least 3 days of training to be able to understand what exactly they are looking for.

Well...I have to pick up my little one from school now...we had a lovely Christmas party this moring! :D

I'll keep you posted.....should I post on another forum.....? I'll have to try and figure out this site. It's great though!!

Hugs,
Caroline :)

Ooops....you also asked me about the clinic itself....

They are very helpful and very caring. I also felt like the technician and doctors that work there really care and try to answer every question. I would recommend this clinic for anyone.

Hugs again,
Caroline :D

Seton Imaging

Chuck123/AMC,

I am also in the Niagara region and was going to look into Seaton. If you don't mind me asking did you both have the MRI, MRV and doppler completed? Do they have the correct protocol? I spoke to Proscan Imaging back in Dec and they had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Any suggestions/information would be appreciated.

Hi jjmagpin,

We have opted not to have our daughter scanned until there is assurance that they know what they are doing...just biding our time...for now. Regards, amc

CCSVI Treatment Successfully Completed in Poland On Canadian

Post by SSG »

My wife, Ruth has been successfully treated for her CCSVI. We just returned from Poland. My wife received world class care in the most up to date and modern surgical clinic. Our total costs including travel, hotel and medical fees were under $25,000 vs. $80,000 that is charged at Stamford. Dr. Simka, established through Doppler Ultrasound and MRV testing that Ruth has a major vein blockage, stenosis of the left jugular vein. All the testing equipment was the latest and the best in fully equipped private clinics. The day following the MRV, On December 29, Dr. Ludyga did the operation which lasted an hour. As the result of the veinoplasty, which opened her vein through a balloon Ruth is no longer suffering from extreme fatigue, her constant headache is gone and is sleeping much better. The day following the operation Ruth’s energy level substantially increased and she has regained some of her long lost personality traits. We think this is like a miracle. Because Ruth’s condition was worsening, I decided to act and to ignore the warnings from well meaning medical folks including our son, Samuel, who is an MD, and travel to Poland rather than wait for further test results. While Dr. Simka’s and Ludyga’s schedules are booked solid into 2011; I made a deal with Dr. Simka and Ludyga to find them paying patients from Canada and the USA and to make the bookings and business arrangements and they agreed to fit a few patients in.
