question for the techies...

i have my MRV images on the cd that the hospital gave me. the images can only be opened and viewed by the software that came on the cd.

i would like to somehow capture these images in a jpeg or tif file, but i do not have the skills.

if any of you can help me do this, without using photoshop, would you please?

my images are an extreme example of CCSVI and i would like to make them available to all who would like to have a gander...

I'm running Microsoft Vista, so I'm not 100% sure this will work for you. But all you really have to do is a "screen shot" of whatever it is you are viewing. Open the MRI viewing software full screen... navigate to the image you would like to capture - find your "prt sc" key (print screen).
On some machines you may have to hold down a fn (function) key while you press the print screen key.

Nothing will really happen after you hit the key...

Minimize the program.

Open up "Paint" Goto Start>All Programs>Acessories>Paint

Once it's open, across the top (Menus) Click on "Edit" then "Paste"..

If the "Paste" option is grayed out, the print screen didn't work... try it again..

Your screen shot should be there now... You can now save as (.jpg)

i only have a mac right now, but if i can remember correctly there should be a "save as..." or "export" item in the menu... try to look for it. then you can export it into jpg files

if not, try to download and install this piece of software (for free):

it surely has an export option, and is Vista compatible!

As alex wrote, the cd will have an option under "File" (at the top left of screen) to export as avi (video), or images. Click on "images", and you will be prompted to save them to a location. You can choose My Documents (or whatever), and even make a new folder - which you can name what you like (Brain Bin, MRI, Cranial Captures...).

i just toyed with the [img] tags and got nothing in my preview. what do i do?

You will need to upload them onto a site such as http://photobucket.com/. Once you upload it, they will give you the URL to place in the IMG tags here.

You first have to upload it somewhere. There are many services on the internet where you can upload pictures, I prefer www.imageshack.us . Then you use the [img]-Tag and put the URL of the picture between it. Like this:

Note that the picture will be shown in its original size, so have a look at how it will be shown by hitting the preview-button in the "Post a reply" section. If it is too big, it will mess up the layout of the site. In this case you can upload the picture again on imageshack and downsize it with the options on the upload dialog on imageshack.

You did it.. Your'e officially a techie now, lol - nice work. WOW, your scans are a mess.. I hope to get some soon and can only pray that mine are are as bad.. haha I'll be printing these for a visit to a THIRD vascular Specialist.

Now to just get them fixed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let all the skeptics see this and try to explain it away...

If you had this kind of stenosis in the lower extremities, you'd have Dr.'s fighting over you to fix them. No begging necessary!

Aren't those scans amazing?! I was privey to a premier showing on Wednesday.

BTW - HighHopes has lent me the audio recorder for the NYC Zamboni meeting. I am taking my video camera. HH will get me out of trouble if and when I can't get everything downloaded to U-Tube. Thanks again HH. It was a pleasure to meet you.

thanks to all of you for your help! i WAS an av tech before i had to claim disability, but i know next to nothing when it comes to computers... just not my bag...

anyway, there is a group of interventional neuro radiologists EXTREMELY interested in my case. im flying out to the midwest in late feb for extensive interviewing and testing, then re-testing. and ultimately, they plan to treat me, errr at least what they have to work with...

my father is an IR, so i have opportunities available to me that most people here do not; thats why i have rarely posted.

but i must say, WITHOUT THIS WEBSITE I WOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN TO WHERE I AM NOW!!! you guys have been helpful to the utmost! and doors will open with CCSVI as it being proven to be a vascular issue, even without the attachment to MS. if my scans dont tell the tale, then i dont know what would!

sheerly from the monetary aspects of dx'ing and treating CCSVI, the giant, corporate hospitals are showing interest and i dont think it will be long until it is available to all. i truly believe this in my heart! i will keep you posted as i learn more, for i, like many of you here, learned in nov. of '09 thanks to the CBC that the CCSVI "theory" even existed. and without the knowledge i gained from the TIMS website, i wouldnt have ever been able to convince the right people that there was a need to even look into it.

The midwest? This is good to hear, as a midwesterner (MN)...we need our our own Buffalo or Georgetown or Stanford.
