From Ireland to Frankfurt for CCSVI : local information need

Post by sam567 »

Hello,

I am new to this forum; I am hoping that people who had already been to Frankfurt for CCSVI treatment may be able to help with some local information.

My parents are taking my brother from Ireland to Frankfurt very soon to see Dr Vogl

My understanding is that depending on the outcome of the scans my brother will have one of the procedures carried out within 48hrs, then at the end of the week return to Ireland.

My brother is a wheelchair user and needs help transferring to and from it.

We are very happy to get an appointment so soon, and are now trying to plan the trip, so I am looking for information here, can you recommend any of the particular:-

- Hotels or hostels that are wheelchair friendly preferably close to the University of Frankfurt

- Wheelchair friendly taxi services in Frankfurt,

- Groups or organisations who may be of help - I am wondering if there is a Germany version of 'Mobility Action', or specialize travel firm ideally basic in Frankfurt

Any suggestions are very welcome, thanks for your help.

Sam.

Hello sam,

it's been years that I went to frankfurt, but...

- the youth hostel frankfurt is listed in tourist guides for handicapped people, so this should be reality (in theory, every hostel and hotel should be wheelchair friendly as there are laws, but that's not the truth). Here's the link: http://www.jugendherberge-frankfurt.de/ ... ?id=55&L=1 (english)

- I think (almost) every taxi service has some special cars for wheelchairs.

- many many people speak english.

Best wishes

Hi Sam,

Could you tell me how much it is going to cost to have the treatment done by Dr. Vogl.

All the best to your brother and family.

You can call the service nummer at the airport in Frankfurt. They surely will and can help you. They are used to deal with those questions. They are very helpfull and can organize something for you.
The right number you will find on their webpage.
