I think you may be on to something.

I recently got MRI results back from a scan of my brainstem and spine.

I have several lesions in my medulla, as well as my spine. The medulla is located in the lower half of the brainstem.

One of the functions of the medulla is vasomotor control of the body, which includes blood vessel diameter and blood flow.

It seems that lesions in the medulla could be a factor that affects stenosis, as well as several other MS symptoms, including male impotence.

Yes there are several things that go wrong that can become self-reinforcing. Since they are wrong things to start with, we get sicker. We should not give up, though. I am no statistician. I just follow the odds.

Seems to me the main things that can go wrong there (vasomotor control) are fatigue (self-oxygenation, control of glucose flow) and overheating (self-cooling).

The reason they all get lumped into one pigeon hole called "MS" is that way nobody ever has to find the cause, and we can keep on discovering new drugs that do something, although we're not sure what, and get a 17 year patent holiday. We'll charge the earth for one, the moon for another, and the stars for another.
