Adderall for Fatigue
My worst days before I was diagnosed and thought that I was just lazy and a bad mother, I would wake up and the 1st thought would be gee, I wonder when I can back to bed. It seems everyday is like that now, except that I give myself a little slack (after all I've got scars on my brain!!)
If adderral can let me have a couple of days of even feeling semi-functional, I'll take it. This thread had convinced me to ask for it at next appt. time, so I'll keep you posted. I've also heard it's affordable too.
can't leave without commenting on the weight loss aspect. I'm normal weight, but as someone said earlier, every woman wouldn't mind a little 'collateral' loss of pounds, especially if it's effortless.
The way I look at weight as a factor in MS is that If I'm fatigued carting around 120 lbs, how much more effort is required to move a 150 lb body.
Plus always in the back of my mind is the scary wheelchair....
How do you get one's fat a** into one?
I work in a hospital and care for many people that have eaten them selves into bed or a recliner, that's where they'll take their last breath.
Haven't we all looked at a person in a wheelchair and thought, bet if ya lost 100 lbs you could walk..
Sorry for the ramble. I'm gonna try it next month, I'll shout it to the hilltops if I can have just a couple of high yield hours a day....

How did you get a prescription for Adderall in one week and end up in ER after professing how terrible it is and making fun of people for taking it?Women love adderall and ritalin for weight loss and to have energy to clean the house, cook, run the kids around town and not be pooped by night time. Any female who says they dont want to lose weight is flat out lying. I have yet to meet a female who thinks she is not thin enough.

[quote]point I am trying to make, I am aware how severe MS fatigue can be. We all suffer from it. but do we really need these types of medications or are some of us just looking for a little 'perk', not saying there's anything wrong with that! just saying.....

I think you enjoy rising people Petakitty. I have not replied to many of your posts because of that suspicion. But I find your attitude offensive. I don't feel you are aware of how severe MS fatigue is - and I don't have a "sense of humour failure" - perhaps during relapses I do! - but I wouldn't be joking around about saying we're just looking for a little perk.
I always try to reply to people online as if I was talking to them face to face.

I've no interest in responding to your questions.
It's not as simple as "don't click if you're offended" - this board has always been a bastion of coutesy and interesting debate. MS can make all of us angry but I think intentionally OR unintentionally causing others offense or upset because of your language or comments is no way to go on.
I don't give a toss about amphetamines/adhd by the way

I am finally off the rebif and the provagil ( Oh happy day)!!
For the first time in 12 weeks I feel like or almost like my old self again. Adderall have given me the strength to do more than sit in my work chair all day and them move to my tv chair.
I did not want to take the Adderall but my Neuro wanted me to give it a try. So I said OK. I am so glad I did.
If it did not work for you let us know and then move on to another topic.
