Will see my 1st Neuro @ Stanford

Post by Rose2 »

Hi All.
I was first diagnosed with MS at Stanford 2001. I saw a head MS Neurologist there but haven't seen him for a while. I see someone more locally now.
BUT, my friend is having weird MS type symptoms so she has a new pt appt. with him in a few weeks at Stanford and I am going to go say HI and let him know I had the stents and let him see me. and my friend will be there to attest to how I was before the stents and now after.
So, I will let you know what he says and what feedback I get from him. He is a really nice guy.
Just an FYI. Rose

Rose2,

I'm looking forward to reading about the neuro's reactions. Let's hope he's inquisitive and becomes intrigued with CCSVI.

You know.... what I admire are those of you who have gone through the procedure are taking the time to help someone else & continue to support the CCSVI cause & those of us still waiting for the procedure and/or the the powers that be to embrace the idea & make it available to all! Cheers to folks like you, Rose2 & Magoo.... your commitment is wonderful & unselfish!

Agree! Strange, just a couple of min ago I was wondering whether I would still hang around after my procedure. Bless those who do, their comittment and compassion.

Asher.... you got my meaning! I'm so impressed with these people. I'm more selfish - I'd be on a golf course somewhere!!

Asher & dlb,
Yes! I when I am on the golf course all I can think is I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM REALLY HERE AND REALLY DOING THIS!!!
That brings me back to TIMS to tell you how exciting it is!
YOU will get to the golf course and be right back here to TIMS to tell us all how you shot! No gimmees. I HATE Gimmees. Play it out!
But that is another story!
Tons of fun ahead! Rose ;)
ps. let someone else carry your clubs. Don't Man Up. Take it easy!!

Hi!
OK, so today was the day I took my friend over to see my 1st Neuro at Stanford.
It was a bit chaotic and I didn't get to see him.
They lost her appt. but squeezed her in. I went in with her and then 2 interns came in so I just had a quick chat with them and left so she could have her appt. time.
I asked the Interns if they knew of CCSVI and MS. NO!!!!!!! I asked if they had heard about the venous procedures Dr. Dake is doing and one of them did know about it "somewhat". I quickly told them I used to have MS and the procedure does work. They were open to it but didn't have a clue as to what I was saying.
My friend gave my paperwork to my 1st Neuro he said Thank You very heartily!! She said he was geniuinely happy to receive it.!
So, I wish I had more. But, lucky or not, she has more appts with him, so I will be going back again with her and hope to see him and let him watch me dance!!
Sorry. I wish I had more, but now he has my letter to him with my testimony in it along with Dr. Dakes post op letter and procedure report.
I gave him my email too. Soo, maybe I will hear something.
Just FYI. Rose ;)
Plus, next time I plan to get over to Dr. Dakes office. We didn't have the time today. I ran back to the car!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

Rose, you are one gutsy lady !!! Thanks for spreading the word. The young interns and residents must be more open-minded than the older neuros.
