Interestingly stupid article but what we have come to expect from Nuerologists - yes maybe the lack of sunshine has a place in this "strange" disease but my wife was born in July, the middle of Summer !!! Just wish these Nuero's would stop guessing and use their time productively in finding the real cause and cure and maybe even take Dr Zamboni's theory seriously.
I think there is multipple factos working together in this disease. and this is just one more factor that needs to be taken into account, in one way or another.
maybe when they got enough of these little fragments of statistical information, they can complete the jigsaw!
i do not belive in a high level of coincidents, so i defenetly think it is worth while to gather information.
But i do not think they should pick and choose randomly, or just choose facts that comply with their own theories. Or leave out factors of high frequency just because they themselves do not comprehend how it could be important. that does not make good and valid science.
when it comes to ccsvi, there is statistical data to support the connection. again i do not belive in coincidents, i belive that the two condtions have something to do with eachother.
i even hope that if you eliminate ccsvi, you can also elimenate ms, if the ms hasnt already completly destroyed your body.
but that doesnt mean that all other information is irrelevant. there is still to many questions unaswered. the presence of ccsvi does not answer why so many more people develop ms now, then they did 50 years ago.
it does not explain why there is such a high rate of ms in scotland compared to wales.
i still feel it is important to find out what factors need to be present to develop the disease, and what factors triggers it. we need to know what factors are working together, and what role they play. wheter it is diet, sunlight, smoking, epstenbarr, clamydia neumoniae, ccsvi, genetics. all of it needs to be mapped, and no factors with such high factors should be ignored. sertainly not ccsvi, as that is one thing that can "easily" be set straight. it is not possibe to avoid common flu viruses. babies are born when htey are born, not all pregnancies are planned, and we live in the part of the world that we live in. the other factors i mentioned is not easy to correct.
so i say yes to data, and yes to scientifc analysis, not just selctive choises to fit i with ones own theory.
