My theory about bleeding after the procedure

Hello everyone,

I have been wondering about why some people seem to bleed more after the procedure, whilst others are OK?

A few people who had the procedure last week ended up back at the hospital as they were bleeding a couple of days afterwards.

My (very small) wound has healed well, but for others this does not seem to be the case. Anyway there seems to me to be a connection with those who bleed in that they are on a special diet pre-procedure.. Gluten and milk free etc.

I thought that maybe this diet thins the blood naturally and the added blood thinning drugs given after the procedure may mean that the blood is less able to clot and heal at the site of the wound?

If anyone has experienced this then it would be interesting to know if they are on the diet. If there is a connection then the people at Euromedic or the doctors would be able to be aware of it and be prepared for additional bleeding post procedure? Maybe even making the patients aware that this may happen thus lessening any stress or worry should it occur??

Anyway, this is just a thought and I am typing as it comes into my head. Anyone else think that there may be a connection?

l never knew anyone went back...sorry guys

hope your still improving, i'm jiggling around prague on all the cobblestones, you could do it, but its long walks to the sites. i've had to slow right down...but hey, i'm still here. thought my suduku puzzle would be easiere now but noooooooooooooooo

Hi Mags,
I overbled and was still bleeing 2 days after the procedure.
I don't eat gluten or dairy and keep a low saturated diet.

Cobblestones you could do without at the moment! I hope that the sights of Prague are making up for it?

I could never do suduku at the best of times

I am hoping that they get easier for you and that you notice more improvements as time goes on.

Maybe there is something in this then, it will be interesting to know if the same applies to others who experienced the same?

I was following BB Diet too (no gluten, dairy etc) and I had a small bleed. It was no problem I just had to spend another night with a role of bandage strapped over the wound. I was up at 6:00 the next day to fly home and it didn't start again.

Were you aware that it was a possiblity? If you had known would it have made any difference?

I did know about the possibility, My brother had already had the same when he had an angioplasty. His was possibly worse.

My wife Iza who also had the procedure in Katowice had problems staunching the bleeding from the entry wound. Her bruises were also very pronounced and spread for two weeks afterwards. She has an extremely high Omega 3 level in her blood due to her BBD and non gluten diet which creates enough of a blood thinning effect which means that she does not take the daily aspirin (and pill to guard the stomach from the aspirin) that was prescribed by Euromedic. This on the advice of Dr Tom Gilhooly of Essential Health Clinic who is a firm advocate of Omega 3 and Vitamin D intake.
It might be worth checking your blood for the Omega 3 level which is a relatively simple matter and consequently no cause for alarm.
