Lately, I've noticed that I've been getting a few emails notifying me that I have "private messages" waiting for me here, but when I check, there aren't any.

Possible Solution
The person that sent it might have either by accident or for other reasons deleted their outbox so technically the message would be gone by the time you went to retrieve it.
