I bruise easily
I bruise easily
Not a song title - really, I do. Especially on the legs. The bruises are large and ugly looking. The more strange thing is that I don't remember having hit anything. Today I have two mysterious bruises on both legs.
Do you think this has anything to do with my procedure 8 months ago (balloonning, faulty valve in right jugular)?
Note that back then I had been taking hepapirine for 8 days and baby aspirin for 6 weeks after the procedure. But the bruises are a new thing, popping up now. Should I see a doctor?
Thanks for your replies,
Adam

Re: I bruise easily
I've bruised easy for many, many years. Don't know where they come from. If this is new to you, it can be a sign of something. It doesn't hurt to ask your doc about it. There are blood tests that will determine if there is anything g that you should be concerned about. Have you googled some of the medical sites to see what that would be a symptom of?greyman wrote:Not a song title - really, I do. Especially on the legs. The bruises are large and ugly looking. Hi!
Thanks for your replies!
I've done blood tests and they came back normal.
Then I found this article http://jmedicalcasereports.com/content/3/1/8955
So, I went to see a GP - he said that if the blood tests were ok and the bruises had vanished so quickly this must be because of my taking Tysabri (23 infusions already) and I should talk to my neuro about giving it up.
I'll do it next week.
Br,
Adam

Re: I bruise easily
I can see after reading many posts that the bruising is definitely a problem. Mine, as well. I am covered in bruises from injecting Betaferon and have now moved to Avonex. first injection today and it is bruising at the site also. My nurse has been proactive and arranged to have bloods done to check coagulation. I have used an autoinjector, but for long periods have also injected without it, and the results have been the same: bruises that last a good three months. Will keep you posted on blood results. Have a great day everyone
:)

Re: I bruise easily
kowhai, do you take any aspirin or supplements like fish oil regularly? Those can contribute to bruising. I also bruise easily and forget how I got the bruises, lol.

Re: I bruise easily
I get bruises on my arms when people have too tight of a grip if they are helping me stand after a fall, or near-fall. Usually happens when there are two both holding me up by the arms. I never say anything besides thanks.
