Hi everyone, recently Costumenational has been in communication with a Dr. Flanagan who worked on the blood flow in the spine and skull very extensivly at a similar time to Dr. Schelling.
The work of these to men compliments and in my veiw, explains some of the missing detail in Dr. Zamboni's work.
PLEASE read all of this man's work on his web site and it may have answers for the re-stenosis issues as well as many other, as yet unconnected aspects of CCSVI.

The site has allot of information that is in laymans terms, for a rational person like me it gives some meaning to CCSVI that is missing.
Enjoy.
Dr. Scalafani this is even more important for you in your search for answers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit* correct again my spelling the good doctor's name. Many apologies for my clumsy fningers..“Finally, I have never met patients as impressive and as inspiring as MS patients. They are intelligent, curious, knowledgeable, well-connected, independent, yet collaborative and engaged with each other. They are generous, respectful, yet unwilling to be cast in the role of ‘vulnerable population.’ They are the true drivers of this phenomenon. They control the agenda. And their anger at the establishment and its physicians result from those who will take away their empowerment. It is for them that I now focus the rest of my career on the relationship between CCSVI and MS and other diseases and on an effective treatment strategy.” ~ Dr. S. Sclafani - Tandem Magazine

A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it

Ignorantness and misleadingness, this is what makes our Doctor so different from others ...You recently made a comment about German and Swedish studies that denied the link between MS and CCSVI. Were the scientists accurate in their report?
“No. They did not follow the diagnostic testing procedure and algorithm described by Dr. Zamboni, and then proceeded to state that they invalidated his observations. It was sort of like one person looking through a telescope and seeing the rings of Saturn and then another person looking through binoculars, not seeing the rings, and then stating that the first observer was wrong. Different instrument of observation, different observations.”
Really? How about applying this principle to Neurologists for once?Malden wrote:Ignorantness and misleadingness, this is what makes our Doctor so different from others ...You recently made a comment about German and Swedish studies that denied the link between MS and CCSVI. I made a similar analogy, Malden, that all of us should be able to relate to.
You can identify lesions with a MRI. But unless you use gladonium, you will not be able to identify active lesions at all. So if you have a MRI without the enhancement of gladonium, does it mean that you have no active lesions? No. It means you did not use the proper protocol to identify any active lesions that may exist.
I am growing increasingly frustrated with remarks that liken esteemed professionals in their field with charlatans. These doctors are going out on a limb, jeopardizing their reputations and status (often with rather prestigious universities) to do what they believe to be right. For this we liken them to swindlers and manipulators?
It is not the results of this theory that scare some people- it is the possibility that this theory provides. The possibility that decades spent on an autoimmune theory were wrong. The possibility that expensive medications and treatments were meaningless. The possibility that a compliant, chronically ill community could rise up and become free from the burdens associated with this disease. And, frankly, the possibility that one may have cheated themselves from the benefits of this treatment by subscribing to the fear and propaganda.
Possibility is perhaps the most polarizing thing in our lives. Those that are scared to explore possibility shun it, but they like company; as such, they try to find those who are also scared to join them. Those that view possibility as hope find it worthy to explore, research and validate. Fortunately, there is plenty of company for those individuals to enjoy within this community.

Dr. Sclafani has always been breaking down the complexities of CCSVI into metaphors. One of the first things he told us was that the brain was like a barrel with a hose going into it and hose coming out and that if you block the hose coming out, you slow down what can come in as well. Being able to explain like this, to help CCSVI knowledge reach more people than it otherwise would, it is a good thing.

'We' as a whole do not. The few that do, well, they can be judged based on their contributions....BooBear wrote:For this we liken them to swindlers and manipulators?

Boobear, you should not. History has shown that such has been the case with most of the new discoveries & inventions. Sometimes opposition is good and indirectly validates a theory. Don't you think if these people had something concrete, they would have retorted to rhetoric (remember hoax?, bee sting?)?BooBear wrote: I am growing increasingly frustrated with remarks that liken esteemed professionals in their field with charlatans.

Yes, that was one of his first totaly wrong and inappropriate considerations that leeds to an inadequate plumbing comparison.Cece wrote:...One of the first things he told us was that the brain was like a barrel with a hose going into it and hose coming out and that if you block the hose coming out, you slow down what can come in as well...

Let's try something new. Back your statements with some facts and counterpoints for us to consider if you wish to be influential.Malden wrote:Yes, that was one of his first totaly wrong and inappropriate considerations that leeds to an inadequate plumbing comparison.Cece wrote:...One of the first things he told us was that the brain was like a barrel with a hose going into it and hose coming out and that if you block the hose coming out, you slow down what can come in as well...
Your analogy to "The Emperor's New Clothes" was far more wrong and inappropriate than the plumbing analogy used by Dr. S.
