With all the beating universal health care has taken as of late, this is an encouraging announcement from the first jurisdiction to implement it in North America back in the 60's.

Congratulations Saskatchewan and Premiere Brad Wall !!
Tommy Douglas would be so proud.

Let's keep those letters and e-mails flowing.. the research team has yet to be chosen.. this team, imho, needs to be diverse, open minded, unemcumbered by traditional theory and excited.

Correspondence might include a request for immediate access to 'compassionate' treatment and post 'out of country' procedure follow-up for those in need. This is a fair request in light of this Government's current generous actions.

Good luck!!

Yes, the "expert team" will be the issue. Paging Dr. MacDonald!

But go Sask!

Here is the response from MSS:
The MS Society of Canada applauds the Saskatchewan government’s commitment to accelerating CCSVI and MS research. We feel this announcement represents a significant contribution towards helping the MS community come closer to answers on this important topic and we look forward to hearing more detail about the request for research proposals.
Did they not say during CIHR meeting that clinical trials are not waranteed at this point? Reason for this change in stance?
and we look forward to hearing more detail about the request for research proposals.
Is this a pressure tactic to plant the usual suspects in the studies?
A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it
