fraxiparine question (lost in TIMS crash) - original poster?

Yesterday someone asked about fraxiparine, but didn't get any answers and then his question was lost in the crash and back-up restore.

Anyway, here's a sheet of info on fraxiparine if the original poster comes back, with instructions on how to inject it, which he asked about. He also asked if it was important to comply with taking it. Yes, if your doctor prescribed it, I'd say it's wise to take it. I am much more worried about people whose doctors don't prescribe anything.

This is a new one I hadn't heard about, I wonder where it ranks in strength/risk against Arixtra and Lovenox, the other injectables we hear of.

Hi Cece it was me who asked yesterday.
i searched everywhere for the subject in the morning and couldnt find it but the crash explains it
Would this be the case for private messages too as one i sent at a similar time is not in my sentbox/outbox?

well as i was ballooned yesterday i decided i should take the anticoagulant Fraxiparine 0.6ml (5700 UI) and its only for 20days

A nurse done the first injection for me in the lower abdomin, which was fine with no pain so im comfortable doing it

is it needed to take a baby aspirin after i finish the 20days of fraxiparine

Yeah, I'd blame the crash for missing pm's too.

I'd follow doctor's advice on the baby aspirin too, although we know that the doctors don't have a set standardized anticoagulation regimen yet. We've had people sent home on nothing, not even aspirin, and others on Plavix for a year.

The doctor just said "you can take Aspirin after the injections if you feel better taking them but its not essential"

So if i dont notice a change when taking Aspirin is there any other reason to take baby Aspirin daily?

I don't know, I'll need to decide that for myself too perhaps? I'm set for treatment at the end of January but he prescribes a 3-week injectable. Not sure if there's aspirin after that. If clotting is most common within the first few months, I could see doing at least two additional months of low-dose aspirin. In addition to aspirin, a lot of the supplements I'm on from the endothelial health program have blood-thinning properties. Garlic, gingko biloba, etc.

ok i think ill try baby aspirin after the heperin shots for a few weeks and see how i feel

i just didnt want to be on aspirin for too long
