Lately I've been having terrible leg cramps, mostly in my right calf, after I walk or even while I am walking. I also get cramps in my feet, mostly at night when I am in bed trying to get to sleep. If I lay in a certain position my feet will automatically cramp up no matter what. It seems like as time goes on my legs have been getting worse and worse, and I fear that at some point I will possibly lose my ability to walk without assistance (which scares me).
What are the best ways to prevent these kinds of symptoms? Is there anything or do you just have to deal with it and let it pass?
Calf/Leg cramps
i second mr b's comment re magnesium.
best is to get it from high intakes of dark leafy greens, certain fish, and nuts/seeds.

the most absorbable supplemental form is magnesium glycinate. if supplementing vit d3, take some with vit d3 and some at a different time.
potassium can be a useful thing to take in combination with magnesium. or eat bananas
