Hello,
I just joined this morning and am trying to read all I can about how this system works. I am an active member of Daily Strength's MS group and I love the close knit familarity of it. I understand from some new posts here that This is MS forums also run the same way. I'm very glad to hear that.

I was dxed with MS back in March 2009. I'm not sure how long I suffered with symptoms before that, maybe 5-6 years with no dx. My beginning symptoms started with fatigue and vertigo. My GP always thought it was MS, while the neuro's didn't. One neuro told me "You don't want to have MS because you will have to take medicine for the rest of your life." I was floored on that one, and immediately left his practice. I went through 4 neuro's before I found my prince of all neuro's. I've been to the famous Johns Hopkins and the premier University of Maryland Center for MS, neither of which impressed me. It was the UM neuro that started me on Copaxone and later had my dx confirmed with Johns Hopkins. My current neuro was referred to me by my pain management specialist. Basically, the UM neuro wrote me off because I would call in pain asking for some relief. He told me to see a PMS, so I did, and I found my current neuro. I just love him.

I have a family of two children and a hubby of 30 years. We are very happily married. My son is 20, and he is a very confused and troubled young man. He recently tried to commit suicide and we had the cops remove him from the house. He spent time in a mental facility and then a rehab facility before being admitted to a halfway house. However, he snuck out of the halfway house and I haven't heard from him since. This is causing me much stress as I'm so worried about him. My daughter is 16 and the light of my life. She is very caring and concerning with my MS. My husband is also very caring and concerning. I couldn't ask for a better family (except for my troubled son).

Welcome, Lynne. I think you will find that because we all share a connection to MS we want to be supportive of each other. We know we do not have the answer to every problem, but we try to understand and help in any way we can.

You will fit right in here!
