I'm going to be traveling to Brazil and spending a week in a tropical forest...it's being recommended by my host to have vaccines for Hepatitis A & B, typhoid, rabies, tuberculosis and yellow fever. Not malaria, though--it's not reported in the area I'll be going to. Sounds like quite an onslaught. Does anyone have any thoughts about risks of getting any or all of these versus the risks of not getting them? I'll be seeing my primary care physician to discuss, but thought I'd poll this incredibly rich pool of knowledge here at TIMS!
Thanks...

Re: question about travel immunizations & MS
When are you planning on leaving? If it's not for a while, then you might ask your doctor if there are any potential benefits to spreading the vaccines out over time instead of getting them all at once.carolsue wrote:I'm going to be traveling to Brazil and spending a week in a tropical forest...it's being recommended by my host to have vaccines for Hepatitis A & B, typhoid, rabies, tuberculosis and yellow fever.
