Anyone hear any news coming out of there? They started doing the procedures last year sometime, so I was hoping to get a lot of good reports coming out of there...

It seems that all the hype is in the beginning...Followup in the CCSVI arena is unheard of and unavailable...thus the reason we are getting nowhere and nobody believes us...its the taillight warranty. Once they see your taillights they waive bye bye...

I am grateful to Dr. Cumming for getting interested in CCSVI and being in my hometown (Minneapolis) so that I can continue follow-up with him. We do not know what the restenosis rates are with the treatment method I underwent, as it's different than Zamboni's original methods.

There are doctors who are simply treating and there are doctors who are treating, learning, researching, presenting, publishing and collaborating. A year ago we were desperate for anyone who would simply treat. Now I am most grateful to the doctors who are treating, learning, researching, etc, etc.

Well I was just hoping to see at least a few positive reports. If they're doing a few procedures a day, and been doing this for a year, then we should have a few hundred reports out there. I feel like if it were positive we'd be hearing about it right now, but sadly it's been very quiet. Just curious.

They speak Arabic in Kuwait, I don't think we have any Kuwaitis here at TIMS...?

Will Dr. Sinan be at Dr. Sclafani's symposium this summer? He attended last year.

Dr. Sinan presented on doppler ultrasound in CCSVI in March at a 5th Gulf Vascular Society Conference:

There was a poster here who was treated by Dr. Sinan in Egypt and who followed up with Dr. Cumming in Minneapolis and was found to have lost a jugular to clotting/collapse after the first procedure.

One of Dr. Sinan's successes is Leeds-Grenville resident, Sandra Whitaker who had the surgery done Dec. 3, 2010.

"I was very fortunate. I had lots of very good improvement," Whitaker said.

Her treatment was able to return much-loved pas-times to her - reading and improving her ability to walk long distances.

"My life is so different now than it was in November," Whitaker added. "It's like a whole new lease on life."

Dr Tariq Sinan from Kuwait carries out the procedure on patients from all over the world at a private clinic in Alexandria in Egypt where they do not use stents.

He says he has seen amazing improvements in the patients he has treated.

I would like to see a publication come out of Kuwait! He has been doing a trial. If a patient had less than 50% stenosis, those patients went into the control group and were not treated, if I understand correctly.

Cece you should have been a research scientist! Where do you find this stuff? The only thing i could find was that all patients were required to refrain from eating hummous and tabouli post procedure. Something about it crossing the bbb.

Ps. They really do make amazing food!
