Although I'm not a patient of yours, I'm hoping you can answer some questions I have.
I've had noticeable improvement after my first angioplasty.
I know it wasn't placebo because I was doing things I hadn't done in years,without thinking about it. Steady on my feet, more stamina , no leg spasms or back pain. After 3 weeks my symptoms all returned, I had 2 more procedures, my latest US showed no reflux in either IJV. I tolerate heat a little better, but my legs are so weak and painful, even my calves.
Could this be related to a prolem in my azygous or another vein never treated? Left IJV (r.IJV remained open) and azygous were treated the 3rd time, no stents. What might be my next step, maybe have other veins checked? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. MS dx 18yrs.

Could my symptoms be related to the azygous?
We have discussed this before, I cannot remember if Dr. Sclafani weighed in, but the mystery is why improvements after the first procedure might not return after the second or third procedure. I am sorry you find yourself in this situation.
Some ideas, not all my own:
* initial shock of the brain in response to dramatic change in flow fades in time
* neurons have been in overdrive, then when angioplasty happens, the 'overdrive' means things are really good for a short time, then the neurons slow down to a healthier state
* placebo that fades
* continued progression in the time since the first procedure
* veins might not respond as well to second and third procedure, because of loss of some structural strength, therefore they close up sooner (if this were true, a stent might be a solution)
* veins have been damaged by earlier procedures
Can anyone add to the list?
