Blood Clot????

Hi everyone,

Its been a year since my last unsuccessful CCSVI treatment in Poland. I've had no problems following surgery, just no improvements either.....

However, last night I had this pain in the area of my left jugular and the same today with a 'pressure' type headache.

Would a blood clot take so long to make it's apperance known? Has anybody else had this experience?

Not likely. Usually clots happen right after the procedure.

I would get it checked out. Are you anywhere near a provider who can do a Zamboni protocol ultrasound? If a Zamboni protocol ultrasound isn't available, a regular one locally will still tell you if you have flow in the jugular or not. Sometimes no improvements means early restenosis or an early clot. Early clots can go unseen/unfelt. A late clot is very possible in a stent or if there is intimal hyperplasia regrowth in the stent. Hopefully it is nothing but these jugulars are important.

thrombosis usually occurs within a few months of treatment. However any recurrent stenosis can result in slow flow and this can lead to thrombosis once the vein becomes really stenotic. If your blood is hypercoagulable for any number of reasons, thrombosis can occur at any time

a simple compression ultrasound of the neck would suffice to show whether or not you have a thrombosis. Often these symptoms occur without any thrombus. Then the ultrasound relieves patient anxiety and worry. Well worth it.
