Nah...Pharma wouldn't turn a blind eye!!
Re: Nah...Pharma wouldn't turn a blind eye!!
The real problem here is that anything that is "natural" cannot be patented. So, the question is, what pharmaceutical company would spend millions of dollars in researching to develop a product and when they do, any other pharmaceutical company can copy and manufacture it without spending a dime in bringing this drug to the public? Maybe if they change the patent laws concerning this dilemma it would benefit those of us who need these "natural" cures.

could a person get this drug since it is used already for an other condition? if a dr. would agree to getting it for them?

There is no drug. No company wants to invest money developing it when they can not patent it.blossom wrote:could a person get this drug since it is used already for an other condition? if a dr. would agree to getting it for them?

Its called off label usage. I personally take Lipitor with no cholesterol problems, Minocycline with no known infection and Prozac with no diagnosed mental or behaviour issues. All of these I take for MS, "off label".blossom wrote:could a person get this drug since it is used already for an other condition? if a dr. would agree to getting it for them?
We also have an example / model for a drug company to develop a non patentable drug, Ampyra.
Re: Nah...Pharma wouldn't turn a blind eye!!
For a Pharmaceutical company to patent a medication that is normally unable to be patented they must change the medication in some where so it is not natural. Such as some estogen replacement they added a molecule to it so that form is not found in nature, or as in Prometrium, which is progesterone but it has been put into soft gel capsules with peanut oil. CureOrBust your medications that you take do have a patent. The drug Blossom is asking about has not been developed. So it is not available to anyone.

I understand that (although technically I think mino & fluexatine are now off patent and available in "generics") , I was simply responding to the question asked. The drug in the link is currently available and used to treat metabolic disorders; neither that or cancer are MS.dania wrote:CureOrBust your medications that you take do have a patent. The drug Blossom is asking about has not been developed. True it has been used for metabolic disorders but there have been no clinical trials for the use with cancer. So how much should one take to be effective and safe?CureOrBust wrote:I understand that (although technically I think mino & fluexatine are now off patent and available in "generics") , I was simply responding to the question asked. I did a search at the time, and found that there has been a Phase I and Phase II trials (I think Wikipedia had the info), and they are currently trying to gain funding for a Phase III trial. And hence we get back to the original post topic that the pharmaceutical companies are in it for the money, not the cures.dania wrote:True it has been used for metabolic disorders but there have been no clinical trials for the use with cancer. i personally would get the cure for cancer from something natural not another pharmaceutical drug, hemp oil

Having had stage 4 cancer, and you want to live, you will take anything to keep you alive. I took chemo, my only choice. Surgery was not an option as it was a blood cancer (nothing to cut out) and it had spread to my bones and lungs. Natural, hemp oil would have not helped me.

i would suggest going on youtube and watching "Run from the cure"
Re: Nah...Pharma wouldn't turn a blind eye!!
I saw it. That video showed it cured skin cancer. It does not cure all forms of cancer. Would be nice if it did.

I'm sorry, wow. If I had stage 4 cancer, I would do as dania did, and hope to be as lucky.

hemp oil cures more than just skin cancers but lung cancer, leukemia, i would feel safe in saying every kind of cancer. even more than that its almost a cure all. if i had hemp oil i would take it to see if it would help my MS and no one can say it doesnt help MS at this point that i know of.
i dont have my medical card yet and it will take some time to grow and make buds but hopefully in a year ill be back with good news
