If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Nanoparticles show potential for treating MS

Researchers say they've been able to use nanoparticles to stop multiple sclerosis (MS) in mice that are bred to have the disease.

The particles are about 200 times smaller than the thickness of a human hair. They are made from the same material that's used to create dissolving stitches.

When researchers attach specific proteins to the particles, they say they're able to teach the body not to attack its own tissues.

If the approach succeeds in human studies, it may one day lead to more targeted treatments not only for multiple sclerosis but also for other kinds of autoimmune disorders, including type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.

The research is published in the journal Nature Biotechnology. The study was funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Myelin Repair Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the Australian government.... Read More - http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm/fuseact ... ageid/3534

I know sometimes that I may sound like a broken record but here is another possible treatment that has worked with that poor MS mouse where we have not seen a resulting treatment that worked in humans. And the article once again refers to MS as an auto-immune disease...another theory that has not ever been proven.

Perhaps this discovery may prove differently but I don't think that I would hold my breath for success with it.

I had read about this yesterday and was psyched but I'm kind of concerned if it's made from the same thing as disolveable stitches as my body does not like those at all.
