Dr. Zamboni's team looked at veins which had been surgically removed from patients with chronic venous disease, and what they found were cytokines seen in MS are also found in CVD, and released due to venous reflux. This paper is way over my endothelial pay grade, but it's interesting to note that Dr. Zamboni has found another correlation between refluxive venous disease and MS.
