Nyx: A Game to Help MS Patients

Hello All,

We are Team Symbiote, a 3rd level Games / Software development team from Ireland and we would like your help. Next week we will be competing in the Irish National final of Microsoft's Imagine Cup World Citizenship contest (https://www.imaginecup.com/#?fbid=ZWYzkCko5rO), a Global contest to find new solutions to the world’s problems, proposed by Students.


We believe MS is a serious problem in the world today, one which merits much more effort in solving. We have spent the last year developing a new game to help people stay motivated and to be more involved in their exercises.


Our idea involves creating games (the first is named 'Nyx') specifically designed to make physiotherapy and strength training more enjoyable and fun to do. We make use of the inherent motivational mechanics to entice users to engage with the game world through their exercise regimes. There is also an optional component that allows the user to have their exercise data generated and analysed by our software. This data is then securely sent on to their doctor so he / she can be easily and quickly updated of the user's condition.


Winners of this contest receive advice and assistance in the development and deployment of their equipment and software. Help us to gain access to Microsoft's reach and expertise around the world and use it to help in the fight against this illness.


What we need from you:

We need help in convincing Microsoft that this is a global problem that affects real people. If you are interested in helping us or in our project, please post a short video (10-30 seconds) of yourself and your story. How does MS effect you? Do you like our idea?
