two short questions regarding the vitD test

Post by melko321 »

Hello everyone,

I'm getting my vitamine D levels checked in a private clinic next week and I would just like to know if it requires any sort of preparation? Also, can I simply say - "I need my vitamine D levels checked" or do I need a specific subtype of vit D checked for in MS (for example d3).

As you can see I don't know much about vitamine D, or any vitamine for that matter. I know that vit B is very versatile and you have to be specific as to which B-vit you need checked (B12,B6 etc,).

I assume this question has already been asked but there are simply too many posts to find the right one. If someone knows please put a link.

Thank you all, having a place like this to come to for help means a lot.

I like to avoid supplements for few days leading up to testing.
the test is a specific vit d3, namely serum 25(OH)VitaminD3
for future reference, I have a section on serum targets in my topic in the Regimens forum.

Thank you both for a quick response, now I know what to do.
Wish I could send you a chocolate or something but the internet is not that on that level yet.
