renal denervation failed trial

Post by Cece »

There were comparisons to be made in the last few years between renal denervation and ccsvi venoplasty because they were two new endovascular procedures that had yet to be fully researched. Renal denervation seemed to be embraced by IRs to a greater extent than CCSVI venoplasty. I don't know if this failed trial will be the end of renal denervation, but it is a blow. If the comparison is the trajectory of a new endovascular technique, this is not what I want for CCSVI.

The main lesson from this salutary tale of fiscal largesse attempting to overcome scientific reasoning is that there is no substitute for scientific evidence based on carefully conducted trials before any therapy — be it interventional or pharmacological — is recommended in clinical practice.
