The Wahls Protocol

Post by ThisIsMA »

Has anyone here tried the Wahls Protocol and found it helpful?

Dr. Terry Wahls is an MD in the USA with secondary progressive MS whose disease had progressed to the point where she was using a tilt recline wheelchair. She did a lot of reading up on MS and came up with a protocol that has resulted in her no longer using a wheelchair and being able to walk without assistance. She is doing clinical trials of her protocol now to try to prove that what she advises will work for others also. What she advises includes a specific diet, and for wheelchair users, electrical stimulation of muscles to regain strength.

I am not affiliated with her, but I did just buy a copy of her book! This past week I started adding more colorful fruits and veggies to my diet and it seems like I have a little more energy already. Fatigue is a huge symptom for me, so much so that I don't have the energy to cook. So I'm making veggie and fruit smoothies with a Vitamix, which I also just discovered.

Here is Terry Wahls' website in case its helpful to anyone:

Also please post here if you've tried or are using her diet.

Thanks!

Hi, I follow a strict diet no diary, gluton, sugar, I have lots of green veggies and fruits and lots of supplements, I find I feel really fatigue if I have gluton or any added sweetners I think everyone is different so you have to find what foods affect you I'm much better than I was over 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with MS I'm not on any meds, so hopefully things will continue being ok, I find the book by Judy Graham really helpfully with diets.
all the best Sue
