Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
Hi all,
Sorry to create a new thread for this but things really are getting more complicated for some unknown reason.
As stated in a previous thread, im trying to contact clinics in Poland and Italy for the CCSVI procedure. I am CIS for MS and a doctor here in spain familiar with CTOS (very closely related to CCSVI) confirmed that blood flow in my right jugular was constricted by about 25%.
I have managed to get a "quote" from the salesiamed clinic in Poland (their prices seem to have gone down sinve just over a year ago) and sent an email to Dr. Simka after someone in the forum very kindly provided me with her contact details.
She, however, has replied informing.me that the procedure is no longer available in Poland and that I should look in Italy.
Can anyone make sense of this? Is this in fact true? Im guessing the procedure is still available in Poland just not under Dr M Simka.
Does ANYONE know what clinics in Italy offer this procedure?
Thanks to all in advance,
Zjac

Some time ago there was a web keeping track of all the sites. It is not active anymore but it is archived in some mirrors like "the web archive". You can find a snapshot with the european sites here:

Maybe you could be lucky and find something even in Spain. This is what the web used to say:

Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
Hi zjac--
Dr. Marian Simka is a he...if he stated in his e-mail reply that he's no longer treating CCSVI, then I assume he's made a decision not to continue treating at this time. Not sure about the rest of Poland, but I would take his suggestion, and look into a consultation at the Italian clinic which has treated thousands of people with CCSVI. They are in Rome, headed up by Dr. Lupatelli
Vascular and Endovascular Unit,
Istituto Clinico Cardiologico (ICC) Gruppo Villa Maria (GVM) Sanità,

Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
Hi,
Im not interested in attending a clinic here in Spain as Id prefer clinics with more experience. Here in Spain patipatiients are still far too much into the standard neuro bable about CRABS etc (remember the social security system pays for them).
Euromedic gave me a price on the operation just over a month ago. So I assume they still are operating.
Thanks for the contact details for the italian clinics. Ill get in touch with them.
Thanks all,
zjac

Some other alternatives to Euromedic in Poland, in case you need them:zjac020 wrote:Hi,

No. Sorry. I have not tried any of them. I tried once one in Germany but with no results.zjac020 wrote:Thanks Frodo. Ive been able to contact euromedia/Silesiamed in Poland, and a clinic in Rome.

Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?

Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
Hello.
I have spasticity in my legs. I want to try CCSVI.
I am in contact with AMEDS Poland. I found there from youtube(Erkki Kuure)They sent me an e-mail.:
1.The CCSVI Diagnostic Package costs 850 EUR and includes the following medical procedures:
-Laboratory Tests
-Doctor Consultation
-Doppler Examination
-Magnetic Resonance Imaging
2.The CCSVI Procedure costs 2150 EUR and includes the following medical and hospital procedures:
-Flebography
-Balloon Angioplasty
-3 Day Hospital Stay (2 nights)
3.Additional Factors That Can Change the Cost of the CCSVI Procedure:
-If the Patient does not qualify for the treatment after the CCSVI Diagnostic Package the Patient will not be charged with the costs of the CCSVI Procedure and will be discharged from the clinic on Day 2 rather than on Day 3 (see section 4 below).
-In approximately 3% of all CCSVI procedures the interventional cardiologist performing the procedure will have to make a mid-operation decision to implant a small medical device called a stent or to use a special catheter called a cutting edge balloon. If a stent is used during the CCSVI procedure the patient will be charged an additional 600 EUR upon his or her discharge from the hospital. If a cutting edge balloon is used during the CCSVI procedure the patient will be charged an additional 500 EUR upon his or her discharge from the hospital.
-In approximately 15% of all CCSVI procedures after Flebography the interventional cardiologist performing the procedure will make a mid-operation decision that the patient does not qualify for Balloon Angioplasty. In these cases the cost of the CCSVI Treatment is reduced to 1600 EUR.
-In approximately 2% of all cases patients are required to stay at the hospital for additional observation. Each additional day of hospitalization costs 200 EUR.
4.Schedule of Your Stay at Our Clinic:
Day 1
-Admission to the clinic
-CCSVI Diagnostic Package
-Overnight stay at the clinic
Day 2
-Qualification for treatment (or discharge from the clinic if the patient does not qualify for the CCSVI Procedure)
-CCSVI Procedure
-Overnight stay at the clinic and post-procedure observation
Day 3
-Post-procedure observation
-Discharge from the clinic
5.The Patient Coordination Service offered by AMEDS costs 500 EUR and includes the following services:
-Pickup from the airport
-Ground transportation service (Airport-Hotel, Hotel-Clinic, Clinic-Hotel, Hotel-Airport)
6.Other Important Information
-Please note that Patients are required to arrive at the Warsaw Chopin International Airport.
-Please note that Patients should schedule their arrival and return flights to Poland at least 1 day prior and 1 day after admission and discharge from the hospital respectively.
-Please note that female Patients should consult their gynecologist prior to their visit at our clinic in order to ensure that menstruation does not occur during the CCSVI Procedure.

Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
husamsdu - Could you please give me the contact info for AMEDS? I've been trying to reach them all week from the info on their web site with no luck. Emails bounce back and phone calls are unanswered. How did you reach them?
Re: Is the CCSVI procedure no longer available in Poland?
I suggest the Brain Flow Team for CCSVI. You can find information here: www.ccsvi.net (also in english).
They have the highest number of CCSVI patients treated ( more than 2500) with angioplasty.
I was treated in Rome by the team and I'm very happy with the result. They work in a very qualified center and they are a very experienced team in MS and CCSVI.
the cost is 5000 euros.
