Need some help please-- new lesions/walking

Post by Notglumlot »

I've had q series of relapses this summer and am about to start Rituxan. I have a new lesion on my brain and some in my spine.... My walking has gotten much worse. Can I come back from this? Or does having new lesions mean that these new symptoms are here to stay?? I'm so scared. And confused about what this means. I've always thought that once symptoms appear, they stay as I've never really got back to how I used to be. Will rituxan be a help?? Thanks

I've wished upon that wishing star for about 10 years. You come to accept it. You "think past it." Good things still happen in your life. Magical things. Rituxan I don't know about. So many drugs that were not there when my friend died of PPMS in 72. Lots of possibilities. Now there's biotin too. Neurologists won't give me any of the "RR" or Disease Modifying drugs.

I am one of the lucky ones. I don't need them, because my progression has mostly gone. I had the CCSVI procedure more than 5 years ago. It didn't fix me, but it went a long way. One of the best things is it has made me a bit more patient. I must be, I've lived with the Canadian Conservative government for 4 years. But tomorrow Canada votes. I've got some time left. Something good may still happen to improve my lot. Yours too, even if your symptoms stay.

The local library lends me books on CD, and some movies. I have fun with personal care workers. We play scrabble. Loneliness bothers me a bit because I am shut in since I lost my driver's license. I will survive. So will you. I hope rituxan or whatever you end up taking does some good.

If you're a Canadian, vote NDP! I did, in the advance polls.

Can I come back from this?

Yes, absolutely!

Every case is different. And while this may be true for some, it is not true for all.

When it comes to MS, the rule is that there are no rules - again, every case is different.
