Im sorry for asking question after question. I try to refrain from forums, but my fears always draws me back in. Im going to see a neuro this Jan for a consultation and possibly EMG+Spine MRIs.
The good news: Most of my symptoms have subsided! Visual stuff, aches/stiffness, headaches ect
Bad news: a few still linger, and other things are making me paranoid. Fasciculations/hand tremors and tongue stuff.
I am on a BFS forum (benign fasciculations syndrome) and one thing that i keep wondering is this tongue stuff. I'm not really worried about ALS as much as MS. It is somewhat smaller on one side..or the other side sits higher? But when i stick my tongue out in a "V" shape, it deviates to the smaller side by a few mm.
I am not asking if this is a symptom of MS. But i do want to know if it is more common than i think in the general pop. Two BFS-ers said they have the same thing. Do you guys (dx or not) have something similar from what i am describing. I will see if i can get some pics on here to show what i am describing.
Tongue larger on one side?

Re: Tongue larger on one side?
I dont think it's that. I dont have any patches like shown and nothing hurts.
Every time i look up tongue deviating/pulling to one side. They keep talking about this hypoglossal nerve and its relation to MS, ALS, Bulbar Palsy. The last 2 i fear more! Thank you Dr. Google! One person on bfs said she has the same thing where her tongue pulls to a side, but as far as i know her tongue isn't "meatier" on one side. Than another BFS-er said he has a side of a tongue that is larger, but as of now i don't know if his tongue deviates. I seem to have a combo of both which is worrying me.
I did though, had a dentist look at it and he said it looks normal. And that tongues are not symetrical and one side can be higher than the other. I do want to get a workup done by a neuro to see what he thinks and if my tongue is in a range of normal.
Im just trying to figure out how common this possibly is. Not just for MS but in the general population. I tried asking on anxietyzone but to no avail. They get new threads like every 5 mins so topics can get pretty lost.

there might be something in the lit; titles look promising:

looks rare and sometimes but far from always associated w ms
