Bad to worse in weeks

Post by PatriciaK »

After becoming unwell after a recent ortho op, I was diagnosed with thyrotoxicosis, symptoms of severe tremors, mobility and balance problems subsided after 7 weeks only to return with a vengeance 4 weeks later, as soon as I went on a weeks holiday to Gran Canaria and not only remain 4 weeks after returning, but are getting worse on an almost daily basis. I have a neuro appointment for the first of November as GP suspects MS and today GP referred me for a CT brain. It's all a waiting game it seems. Perhaps this poems I wrote says how I'm feeling at this moment in time.

Wtf???

Wibbles and wobbles
tremors and quakes
lurching and falling
dizziness and shakes
numbness and fogginess
a withering mind
slipping and sliding
yet no ice
do I find
one day in perfect health
the next day I'm not
was that the case
or have I forgot
two sparkly eyes
with a visual blur
a perfectly shaped mouth
that speaks with a slur
whats going on
in this body of mine
is it disease
or just the passage of time
poking and prodding
by physicians of note
another investigation
added to my rote
I don't really know
what I'm wanting to hear
but it can't be much worse
than this not knowing fear

Hi,

Go to a hospital and ask at the ER ward for some help. Go now. That may help you get some attention a lot sooner. Keep the neuro appointment that you already have.

If the hospital finds something, change doctors. If you are troubled as much as you say then either you haven't seen a doctor soon enough or you are seeing the wrong doctor.

Since your GP suspects MS, he/she should really refer you to a neurologist who specializes in MS - you probably need a MRI of both your brain and spine which would be ideal for diagnosis purposes. MS can sometimes be hard to diagnose so patience may be needed...
