Clinical Nurse Specialist

Hello!

I was due the results of my MRI last week, but I received a letter saying that since receiving my results my appointment has been changed. Instead of seeing the Neuro im now seeing the clinical Nurse Specialist.
Is this a good thing? Im hoping to walk straight in and out with the all clear

I am not qualified to comment on the appropriateness of seeing the clinical nurse specialist rather than the neuro in your case. I can only trust the judgment of your medical team.

With the assumption from your username that you are from Finland, I encourage you to request the vitamin D blood test called "25-hydroxy D" – I'm sure the Nurse Specialist is able to order it. Request your own copy of the test result so that you have the actual number.

Vitamin D deficiency can result in MS-like symptoms and must be ruled out as a possible cause.

I don't know, but that's how it feels when waiting for medical answers <sigh>

The Neurologists that I have seen don't have Clinical Nurse Specialists, or at least I have never seen one in 32 years. For that reason I don't know if there is or isn't any significance to seeing one.

Hi,

Maybe tells us what the Nurse says. On the face of it, I would assume that it is a lower grade problem than a Neuro needs to deal with so you have been referred down the tree. However, this site is loaded with people who struggled to get definitive answers and often they suffer because of it. Sometimes specialist just means they have a narrow field of focus and aren't much use if you don't tick their boxes.
