Voice Your Support for "Temporary" SSDI Benefit

Post by UCAN »

As of noon today, nearly 1,200 people have signed the SSA Disability "Chronic Illness" Insurance Amendment Petition posted at
http://www.petitionthem.com/?sect=detail&pet=3685

In order to get the attention of our federal lawmakers, 10,000 signatures are needed. Here's your opportunity to help ensure that victims of MS and other chronic illnesses receive the assistance they need and deserve without having to fight for their benefits.

Here's just one of the many moving statements being made by those who have already signed this important petition:

My wife suffers from MS. She did not receive SSD until hiring a lawyer. Nothing had changed since her original claim, just hired a lawyer. Makes you wonder.

This vital effort is receiving support from all the major MS organizations.
Please take a minute and sign the petition today!

Again, the link is http://www.petitionthem.com/?sect=detail&pet=3685

Thank you,

The April/May 2007 issue of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's InsideMS magazine has a well written article in it concerning SSDI benefits. Sorry, no URL as this isn't online yet. I'll post it as soon after it becomes available.

Here's a link to the article from the NMSS on applying for SSDI benefits. The article is also available as a PDF file. NHE
