If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Cymbalta

Post by missvicki »

I was on Effexor for 5 years. My 19 year old son had cancer and I needed it to cope. He is fine now----hallelujah! :D

I recently started hearing more and more about Cymbalta and how it could help with nerve pain. I was ready for a change; I think the Effexor was no longer helping and making me irratible and grouchy.

I asked my neuro about switching to Cymbalta and she agreed.

I started to titrate to the Cymbalta and was very worried after reading all the horror stories from people on internet blogs (re switching from one anti-depressant to another). Well, it was a piece of cake.

I have been on Cymbalta for about 4 weeks and am virtually pain free. Overall, I would say my pain is 90% better. While I used to always be aware of my pain, I rarely notice it anymore. I occasionally take Aleve and rarely take Tramadol anymore

I hope this helps someone else....missvicki

Man that's great. I had no idea an anti-depressant could help with pain. You must be feeling pretty good about that going into the holidays!
