Dizzy spells
Dizzy spells
Hi everyone,
So the last 2 weeks i've been experiencing random dizzy spells. Like it just sweeps over me, lasts about a minute then goes away. It's not every day... and i'm always sitting when it happens.
I've never had this before... has anyone else experienced something similar?
I'm about to head to Europe for my vacation and the last thing i need is a new symptom.
Hope you're all keepin' cool!

I experience dizzy spells daily. Some are right when I stand up, some are when I'm standing, and some when walking around. They're not bias, they come when they want. Mine don't last as long as your's though, maybe 10-15 seconds.
Most of the time, they're accompanied by blurred/tunnel vision. I can't say for sure if this is a symptom of MS as I have not been "officially" diagnosed yet. I just thought I'd share my experience. You're not alone.

Yes I get them. Usually accompanied by blurred/tunnel vision. I always know when they are comming on, as the infamous "brain fog" preceeds it. Like Lew, I just work through it. I have sort of gotten used to it now...LoveActually wrote: Most of the time, they're accompanied by blurred/tunnel vision.

It's a very common Sx of MS. It is called vertigo. Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is the most popular non-drug treatment for vertigo in MS. It's so effective that patients don’t need medical interventions to overcome their dizziness after it.
Re: Dizzy spells
yes i get dizzy spells just like that randomly. But they last maybe 15-20 sec. I just learned to live with it. Kind of just dont panic and wait for it to pass.
Re: Dizzy spells
At one time I had dizzy spells and double vision. I had my amalgan(mercury fillings) and root canals removed and haven't had a dizzy spell or double vision. I you have a lot of amalgams or root canals that could be the problem.

Re: Dizzy spells
Im very curious about the root canal connection.
I had two root canals and crowns done in 2003, front right incisor and one of the lower front left teeth. They used gold posts and porcelain pieces. I cant stay I've every hard dizzy spells etc or any problematic symptoms up until now though (over 10 years later).
Im currently CIS for RRMS, and what I do notice is that I get a second or two of dizzy spells with sudden movements (getting up quickly, change of direction quickly etc). Its fairly common amongst all health people too, but I notice it now occurs with movements that previously wouldn't cause it.
Im looking in at getting the root canals removed and replaced with zirconian implants, as I believe the theories that they definitely cannot be healthy for the body. Its just so bloody expensive. Maybe an option would be to do one at a time. The most surreal thing though, is that for years after having the root canals and crowns done I've had recurring nightmares always of the same type...I dream im pushing my lower teeth out and against my upper teeth in order to break the upper crown. Sounds silly, but as dreams go they used to be pretty scary. Im wondering if my body was trying to tell me something....
Anyone else had root canals removed?
