@Billmeik, sorry i didn't see your post earlier! I tell ya MS brain fog is a pain! I have difficulty following the posts and rely on my email notifications most times.
Yes sounds like we will be there at the same time. I know they're closed for the weekend, but I had an email yesterday for confirmation.
Let me know if you hear anything, I'll try to check my messages here. I tried to phone them but no luck (friend had the same trouble trying to call Germany from here) and I don't have skyp sp? yet. I just emailed. Where are you flying in from? you can pm me if you would rather. I'm coming from Wetern Canada

Best of luck alanbrowne! I hope you will look forward to a Brave New Life.
Don't forget the Tracking Thread. Smile.
Billmeik, We will be "in country" the same week, if different LZs. We might see each other on the plane. I haven't packed my parachute yet, but I will likely be flying on the 4th or 5th of June from YVR. Else, all the best.

My name is not really Johnson. MSed up since 1993
Hi Caraboo ! I was just like you, not wanting the "catheter", especially after reading about every woman getting it automatically with Dr. Simka (with UTI in most cases after). So I was ready to fight them off
and surprise surprise, maybe because it's still a small scale human organisation, they didn't even mention it !!! There a plenty of nurses, they come in a flash when you ring and help you the old fashioned way : bedpan ! No UTI, no pain, no embarassing procedure, YEYE and VIVA KOSTECKI !
So, don't worry and good luck !
Michelle

Michelle it is not true at all. At Euromedic thay always ask if you want the catheter or not. I didn't want and I didn't get it. It was not a problem for them.girl69 wrote:Hi Caraboo ! I'm making my coming out... I have been liberated by Doc K in Tychy on April 25th. Celebrating two weeks, last shot Clexane yesterday night!!!
We stayed in Poland, sightseeing for 8 days after the procedure. Kate was a great help so was Alex (taxi driver). Visited Pszcpyna, Auschwitz et Krakow.
Thank you Alan from England for the tribute about Dr Kostecki, all true and more.
I sure was not received the same way when I saw my GP last thursday... He was pissed at me (I could not care less). He's point being I made him responsable for my health with procedure and medication he did not agreed with??? Complicated (sorry for my English) he says that in Canada they prescribe Plavix for a YEAR after stenting?!? Dr K prescribes it for 6 weeks only and aspirin (150mg) rest if my life. Here pharmacist : aspirin 80 mg only.
My doc would prefer to die than to put the request for a Doppler follow up (K. ask after 1 month) same with meds.
I am a bit at lost here but for you Canadians next to go I would suggest:
Make sure you get ALL the meds prescribe IN Poland. (Not very expensive anyway)
For the women, euhh, ok guys skip the next few lines...
2 days before angio, when I start aspirin and plavix, I stated bleeding lightly but it did not STOP for 14 days!!!! I am 46 and was not schedule for my period until my return home. did not pack... No tampax in Tychy only the stuff you have to insert bare finger... (no carton or plastic device) and I have allergic reaction to pads. Because I was bleeding I was not allow to stand up for 24hrs (normally 6hrs). Fortunately since I was the only girl (Alan and Kenneth were at the same time) I had a big nice room all to myself!!!!
When sick, 1st thing to learn is humility! (been sick a long time cancer + ms and still have a problem with that one...)
I could not found some Iron supplement even in Krakow.
1st time on a forum, will be back...

Vivavie congratultion!!! How do you feel?
I am going June 5th, and we are also staying for a week to site see since it is our first time in Europe. I'm excited to see all the positive reports, and it looks as though some of us will be in Poland at the same time!
I still worry that I didn't get a dx of CCVI first, not wanting to waste money on a test that will be done again in Poland. So, I'm trying hard to stay positive and just look forward to the trip. Although, the long flight from Calgary to Frankfurt I'm not looking forward too! (I think 9 1/2 hours) I hope I can sleep through most of it.
I had a disappointing apt. with my GP on Sat. and have to see him again tomorrow and I understand what you mean when you say you really don't care what he says about this topic at this point. I heard that the blood thinners were short term, with asprin afterwards which is over the counter.
Did you have to make an appointment to go back for follow up with Dr. K?

THIS IS FOR LADIES ONLY PLEASE
Oh, oh, so you start blood thinners BEFORE the procedure? Darn, I don't want to be in your boat
The humiliation part aside, he still does the procedure right? What do you do during the procedure, use pads or tampons? I hate tampons and never use them.
Thanks for the info.
